“…they are here…”

So it’s been a little while since the last update. This time has not been wasted and much has been done to progress the hoplite project along. As planned, the big hoplite armies are taking shape and now I am happy we are getting to the look of the types of big hoplite engagements I have envisaged. When I said we were going big that was no idle boast!
Still work to be done but the Spartan/Peloponnesian forces are nearly complete and many of the Athenian and Panhellenic hoplites. Lots of little extras as well as Theban forces to add but the bulk of the forces are now coming together.
It’s probably best to let the pictures do the talking and you can see the progress to date. I hope you find something of interest/inspiration to see how the these armies can look.

So now we are looking at the bulk of the hoplites done up to this point…still a good bit to do to get the truly epic hoplite clash of spears going. Hoplite figure total in this last pic is close to 800 figures plus or minus a few…
…next post we’ll get some shots of these on table.

Wow from me too, that’s a massive army and lovely painting, all the shields look great but I must admit I like the diversity with the Athenians. nice work Jason
